Pushing Fifty The Story Of The Middlesbrough Diocesan Pilgrimage To Lourdes

The Book

Each year since 1952, thousands of pilgrims have travelled from the Diocese of Middlesbrough to the famous shrine of Lourdes in the foothills of the French Pyrenees. When the pilgrimage celebrated its golden jubilee in 2003, Father Paul Farrer wrote a book to mark the occasion. He turned to me for assistance and I was delighted to play my part in putting together a very successful publication.

What The Client Thought

As a first time author I knew I needed help but didn’t even know what kind, where and when. Mike joined me in the process, both gentle and challenging as we worked together. He did exactly what was needed to help tell the story in the best way. He was generous with time and skills, improving my ability no end. He made sure the story was well told and worth reading. I couldn’t and wouldn’t have done it without him – Father Paul Farrer

Producing The Book

Fifty years is a lot to cram into one book, but we did it! The project required painstaking research, including hours examining newspaper archives and countless interviews with those who have shaped the pilgrimage or had inspirational experience to recount. But it was a genuine labour of love and the final product was something the team could all be proud of.
